2012 GCSL SUMMER LEAGUE REGISTRATION Registration for the 2012 Summer League will be held in the upper clubhouse on Saturday, March 10th from 9:00 to 1:00 and on Sunday, March 11th from 12:00 to 4:00. The summer league season practices begin in late May (usually the last week of school) and the season continues until the beginning of July. Coaches Paul and Mary will be offering both morning and evening practices this year to accommodate the schedules of more children and their parents. The meets are held on Thursday nights as they always have been. We are keeping the swimmer’s fee at $90 for residents and $110 for non-residents. Discounts for families with multiple swimmers are available and the fee for all swimmers in high school will be only $25. Please call David Wood at (678) 314-2874 if you have any questions.
***** COME JOIN US FOR A SUMMER OF FUN ***** UPCOMING FUN NIGHTS The swim team will be sponsoring a few events in the near future so our swimmers can get to know Coach Paul before our season starts and just to have some fun together outside of swim season. These events will be open to all Edgewater Lightning swimmers and any of their friends who are considering joining the team for a summer of fun. Our first social night will be “MANHUNT NIGHT” at the clubhouse on Friday, February 24th, beginning at 5:00. The players will be separated into at least two age groups depending on the number of children attending. The older children (middle and high school) will play well after it becomes dark. Pizza, drinks and smores will be available and parents will be in attendance to supervise (volunteers always welcomed). We are also working on plans for a “POLAR BEAR PLUNGE” in our pool. We have set a tentative date for this exhilarating social for Friday, March 16th. We still have a few details to work out, but this is shaping up as one of the most invigorating events ever held in Edgewater. This outing will even provide entertainment for those who are faint of heart and prefer to just watch the action. Hot chocolate will be available immediately after the plunge.
